Maple syrup is perfect for waffles, pancakes, and many desserts, but you can also use it on eggs and meats. In fact, here is a very simple recipe to make a super Sunday brunch : the Ham and Maple Omelett.

Ingredients :

– A small onion, minced- 30 ml of butter
– ham in cubes
– half an apple
– 15 ml of maple syrup
– 5 eggs
– salt and pepper

Heat half the butter in a frying pan. Add the onions, ham, apple, salt and pepper. Let cook at medium heat for 3 or 4 minutes. Add the maple syrup, mix, and cook for another 2 minutes. Put aside.

Heat the rest of the butter in a pan. Put the eggs and cook for a minute. Then, quickly beat them, and let cook for a minute. Put half of the garnish on the eggs, roll the omelett, and cook for 30 seconds.

Serve with the rest of the garnish, and fresh fruits.
